Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Pace Ledger (“Pace Ledger”, “the Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses your information when you use the Pace Ledger mobile application and this website (together, the “Service”). It also explains your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Where required, the Company acts as the data controller for your personal information.
Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the Service, this may include:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect basic personally identifiable information such as your email address and your first and last name.
- Financial & ledger data. As a finance app, Pace Ledger lets you record and manage personal and business financial information — income, expenses, budgets, savings goals, bills, subscriptions and debts. We do not sell, rent or trade this data to brokers, advertisers or marketing agencies. It is stored securely and used solely to provide the Service and sync your ledger across your devices.
- Camera & photo library (with your permission). If you choose to add a profile picture or scan receipts, we access images you select from your device’s camera or photo library. You can enable or disable this access at any time in your device settings.
- Device & diagnostic data. To keep the app stable, we may collect technical details such as app version, device model, operating-system version and anonymised crash reports.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information above to:
- Provide and maintain the Service, including securely syncing your ledger data across your devices and monitoring usage to keep the app reliable;
- Manage your account and your registration as a user;
- Contact you by email about necessary security updates or critical account notifications;
- Process subscriptions and manage your access to paid features;
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, or technical and security issues;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Data Storage, Sync & Security
The security of your data is important to us. Your in-app vault can be protected with standard authentication, and you may opt in to secure local access using a cryptographic PIN or biometrics (fingerprint / Face ID / Touch ID), with auto-lock and lockout protection.
When you use sync, your ledger data is transmitted using encryption in transit and stored securely so it is available across your devices. We apply administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Payments & In-App Purchases
The Service may offer paid products and subscriptions. We do not store or collect your payment card details. Payment processing is handled entirely by the relevant app store — Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) — and managed securely via RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. Their use of your information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements. These include:
- App distribution & payments — Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Subscription management — RevenueCat.
- Diagnostics — anonymised crash and performance reporting to keep the app stable.
Each provider is responsible for its own handling of data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review those policies.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. The app gives you the ability to permanently delete your account and wipe all associated financial data from within the app’s Security settings. You may also contact us directly to request deletion. We may retain limited records where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because you can delete your data directly in the app, you remain in control at all times. To exercise any right over information we hold, contact us at support@paceledger.app, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
The Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new policy on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
